  1. So long ago, and yet so much changed because of it. Always, always, admire them!

  2. Love this picture of the two of them. I just finished reading an interesting book on Jackie Kennedy, basically looking at her life with JFK before the assassination and in detail on that horrible day, and then looking at her decisions afterwards from the point of view that she suffered PTSD for the rest of her life. What a terrible ordeal she went through and what a loss for her, their children and of course the entire country. XO

    2. Cate, the book is Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis: The Untold Story, written by Barbara Leaming, it was published last fall. I found it fascinating.

  3. I remember that day quite vividly; we were all sent home from school to be with our families and watch Walter Cronkite give us the terrible news. (The times:yes, of course, someone-MOM- would be there).

  4. What a beautiful picture. Symbolic of such a different time.
On another note- I hope that you and your family have a happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Such a striking couple. I can see why people felt so filled with hope, and then horror.

As Alice Roosevelt Longworth said, if you've got anything bad to say, sit next to me! No, really, please remember to be kind, and don't say anything fred's mother would not approve of (Diner's mom didn't approve of anything. Including fred.)
