the meaning of Boxing Day in a post-1776 world

dear readers, I wish all of you
a Merry Christmas
and a very happy New Year

and of course a swiftly and efficiently accomplished Boxing Day!
Boxing Day is the day after Christmas
when we put all the mis-presents
back into their boxes
and bring or send them back to the stores
thereby keeping the economy in motion.
