Refinery 29 has kindly listed 10 fashion trends of recent date that the editors hope not to see again. I join them. Top ugly: diaper pants. Now if only they'd take a long hard look at feather bottoms.
in a recent post - this one - , I warned that locating a JC store next door to a fur-and-feather specialist did not bode well. I just love to say "I told you so."
...But sometimes you have to say 'I told you so!" Hilarious Fred.
ReplyDeleteI am not a celeb follower but I did notice a picture of Jennifer Aniston arriving at the Paris airport with these terrible dropped crotch jeans on. If she can't make them look good it's a true story, no-one can.
I saw that too - just awful!
Deletehi, Dani, yes, Nili Lotan has a lot to answer for.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I remember feathered clothing at JC, they had a salmon/shrimp-colored mini skirt and matching vest, both of which lingered in sale section and on markdown racks for TRULY years. This stuff is an insult to Big Bird.
Oh I would buy that dress if I could afford it, I LOVE feathered skirts, I've got a white feathery jacket which might flutter onto the blog in the new few weeks - don't shoot me!
DeleteI'm thinking I might feel differently about the Featherbottom if I had Tabs' legs/ thighs...
DeleteI say NO to diaper pants also.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I was aware of diaper pants (on this continent) was when Nili Lotan did them for J.Crew. See this post: thewhiningdiner.blogspot.com/2011/05/nili-lotan-military-jacket.html
DeleteDidn't like them then, don't like them now, glad no one else does either!
I thought they were hideous then too. Still think so.
DeleteWhile some may be able to rock the feather bottoms, I cannot imagine anyone looking good in dropped crotch pants. Who, where, how and why are questions that come to mind when it comes to this ridiculous fashion-don't.
ReplyDeleteHi, tiffany rose, I'm glad Refinery 29 gave it the kiss of death. Next to fall: adult rompers. I hope.
ReplyDeleteMy Buff Orpingtons rock feather bottoms; otherwise, looks like Big Bird. I wish they would condemn 5"heels.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lane, hi, chooks! Well, now that many of us live where there it's not necessary for health reasons to walk almost a foot above the street or the dining room, I too can do without grotesque heels and platforms.
